Boys Playing Ball
Inspired by the song "The Universe," this gig poster was created to visually embody both the emotion and the lyrics of Gregory Alan Isakov's music, specifically these lyrics:
"And the Universe, she's whispering so softly I can hear all
The croaking insects, all the taxicabs, all the bum's spent change
All the boys playing ball in the alleyways
They're just folds in her dress"
Using old photographs, digital collage, and visible distressing, the design attempts to convey the feeling of living in a world that's been beaten down and bruised, having lost it's shiny newness, while remaining vibrantly alive, never giving up.
